Mr. Waleed Kadhim Lafta Al-Saedi, Engineer and President of the Iraqi Gymnastics Federation, departed today, Saturday, 3 October 2026, for Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the 86th World Gymnastics Congress, taking place on 4–5 October 2026.
Al-Saedi is representing the Republic of Iraq and the Iraqi Gymnastics Federation at the Congress, following an official invitation from World Gymnastics, alongside representatives of national federations from around the world.
The Congress is scheduled to discuss several important topics and decisions concerning the development of gymnastics and stronger cooperation among national federations, continental unions, and World Gymnastics, helping advance the sport and support its future programmes.
This participation reflects the Iraqi Gymnastics Federation’s commitment to strengthening Iraq’s presence at international events and building closer relations with World Gymnastics and participating national federations, supporting the continued development of Iraqi gymnastics.
