Representatives of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Mr. Diego Jerima and Mr. Anis Saud, met with the members of the newly elected Executive Committee of the Iraq Gymnastics Federation in Baghdad. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and develop the sport of gymnastics in Iraq.
Mr. Diego, the FIG representative, affirmed that the elections were free, fair, and excellently organized. He praised the significant role played by the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Electoral Committee, and the Appeals Committee in ensuring the success of the electoral process. He also noted that the FIG will provide strong support to the Iraq Gymnastics Federation in the near future to promote the sport and enhance the capacity of its technical and administrative staff.
For his part, Mr. Anis Saud, the FIG representative, emphasized that the doors of cooperation and support will remain open for the Iraq Gymnastics Federation in the coming period, helping to strengthen Iraq’s presence in continental and international competitions.
Meanwhile, Eng. Walid Al-Saedi, President of the Iraq Gymnastics Federation, expressed his gratitude to the FIG representatives for their visit to Baghdad and their close follow-up of the electoral process. He also thanked the members of the new Executive Committee for their trust, confirming that the upcoming phase will witness serious efforts to develop gymnastics in Iraq.
The members of the new Executive Committee also extended their appreciation to the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Electoral Committee, and the Appeals Committee for their efforts and support in ensuring the success of the elections in their exemplary form.
