During the opening conference, the President of the Iraqi Gymnastics Federation, Eng. Walid Al-Saedi, stressed the importance of this championship in terms of developing the level of players and discovering new talents that can be included in the national teams in the future.
Al-Saedi stressed the need to support sports clubs as the main source for discovering and refining these talents. He explained that this support will be pivotal in the Federation’s strategy to develop gymnastics in Iraq.
The conference also included a meeting of the Federation’s Technical Committee, which discussed organizational and technical aspects related to managing the championship and participation controls. A special meeting was also held for the referees participating in managing the championship competitions.
In the same context, the Federation’s Executive Body stresses the importance of supporting women’s and girls’ championships, as they are a category that has suffered from neglect in recent years. And that this support will be a top priority within the Federation’s plans to spread and develop gymnastics at the women’s and general levels.
