A delegation from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) visited the training hall of the Iraq Gymnastics Federation, where they observed the daily training sessions of the national teams. The delegation also inspected the available sports equipment, apparatus, and infrastructure within the facility.
The delegation was received by the Federation’s President, Eng. Walid Al-Saedi, along with Dr. Saadallah Abbas, the national team coaches, and several administrative staff members. The FIG representatives praised the efforts made by the Iraqi Federation to develop the sport despite the challenges faced in recent years.
During the visit, Mr. Anis Saud, the FIG representative, stated that Iraq is a country rich in talent and that the coming period will witness positive results reflecting the abilities of its athletes. He also emphasized the FIG’s commitment to providing support and assistance to further develop gymnastics and enhance its status in Iraq, noting that the doors for technical and developmental cooperation will remain open in the near future.
The visit concluded with the delegation commending the coaches and athletes for their dedication and professionalism, affirming that the continuation of such efforts will greatly benefit the future of Iraqi gymnastics.
