The President of the Iraqi Gymnastics Federation, Eng. Waleed Al-Saadi, received a delegation of Parkour athletes and specialists from Najaf and Baghdad at the Federation’s headquarters. The meeting discussed the main challenges and obstacles facing the sport in Iraq.
Al-Saadi emphasized that Parkour is an important discipline within gymnastics, noting that the Federation has local and Asian plans to develop and promote the sport.
The delegation presented a number of practical proposals aimed at developing Parkour, building a promising new generation of athletes, and creating opportunities for international participation.
Al-Saadi welcomed the proposals and confirmed that they will be discussed at the Federation’s upcoming meeting. He also assigned Mr. Nabil Yaseen to follow up on the Parkour file and work on forming a committee chaired by him to develop the sport in Iraq.
